Event Recap: Landmark Exhibition Opening Reception

On January 24th,  2024 , YRB attended the opening reception for the exhibition Landmark, curated by Kate Storch at THC NYC in New York City.

The expansive exhibition pays homage to some of New York’s most iconic Hip Hop landmarks and includes work by Legendary photographer Joe Conzo, Danny Cortes, Peter Paid, BlusterOne©, Shiro, André LeRoy Davis, TTK and Jerms (DJJS1,  Pharoahe Monch & El De Sensei of the Artifacts..

The show plays with the idea of landmarks as locations, but also a pivotal moment.

Artists in the lineup have created works, adding their own artistic voice and style to celebrate and memorialize the influential locations that provided a place where Hip Hop Culture and Artists emerged and thrived, helping to lay the foundation for the global force Hip Hop is today.

The opening night was sponsored by Gotham, NYC’s premier cannabis concept store, and featured music by legends Grand Wizzard Theodore, Large Professor and DJ Eclipse, along with a special performance by Pharoahe Monch.

The month-long exhibit runs from January 24th through February 24th and will include Record Fair weekends, a special Breaking battle by BGirl City.

The latest installment of the Homage Awards, that celebrates select individuals responsible for moving the Hip Hop culture forward, be it Music, Fashion, Arts or Sports will be honoring Ralph Mcdaniels of Video Music Box.
